“Restoring the city’s lights”

An event,  namely Karachi Youth Festival 2016 was organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan. Karachi Youth Festival is one of the most happening event recently that is going to be held in Karachi. It invites teenagers, adolescents and adults alike who believe they may have talent in any of the fields of singing, theater, dance, filmmaking, English /Urdu elocution , English / Urdu debate, English/ Urdu Essay writing , photography, comedy vines, film making, quiz, painting and etc.

The youth in general  invited from all over Karachi to showcase their talents and take part in different competitions. This competition also help them improve their skills and expand their abilities.

The Karachi Youth festival also attracts a lot of opportunities and provide a n illustrious platform to those seeking on becoming professional with their talents.

This festival  held at The Arts Council of Pakistan from 24 September 2016 to 1st October 2016 and  targeted the youth between the ages of 14 to 29 years old.


The Pakistani nation has been hardened as it has been fighting against terrorism for so long, said Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan at the closing ceremony of the ninth Karachi Youth Festival at the Arts council on Saturday.

The governor also performed Mehdi Hassan’s ghazal ‘Yeh Watan Tumhara Hai, Tum Ho Pasban Iss Kay’. Khan also played the guitar, for which he received a standing ovation.

He maintained that the Karachi Youth Festival is proof that the youngsters of Karachi own the city of lights. Khan said the youth are dedicated to seeing Karachi progress and revive its ‘lights’. The governor stated that in order to restore peace we will not spare any of our enemies.

He remarked that since the beginning of the youth festival, hundreds of thousands of young persons have participated in the festival.

He lauded those who had won in their respective categories and said they deserve to be supported.

Chairperson of the council and Karachi commissioner Ejaz Ahmed Khan said that the activities seen in the premises of the Arts council cannot be seen anywhere else in Karachi. He added that a large number of participants and their interest in the youth festival has given a positive message to the people of Karachi. He added that the council has played its due role and would perform its duties in the future as well

We believe in Quaid-i-Azam’s Pakistan where there is no discrimination based on religion, said Shah. He said Hindus and Christians also participated in the festival and would keep on playing their positive role in building the country. The special assistant to the Sindh chief minister on special education, Zulfiqar Behn, also appreciated the efforts for the Special Children’s Youth Festival being held at the Arts council on Saturday.
