ACMA formed in the year 2010 by the President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Mohammad Ahmed Shah.
Ustad Zafar Ali Khan was the first singing tutor at the Music Academy who belongs to the Gwalior gharana of south Indian classical music. Arts Council Music Academy started with a group of 22 students where the number of students has increased each year. Our graduates have had the honors of performing at various T.V channels, reputable music festivals and conferences, coke studio and several music events.
Moreover, our students have performed on national & international stages and have had the privilege of recording music albums and launching their own music videos.
After the death of Ustad Zafar Ali Khan in January 2011, his younger brother Ustad Mehmood Ali Khan was given the responsibility of teaching vocals at the Arts Council Music Academy.
In 2016, Shahzaib Ali, a former graduate of the academy was also appointed to teach classical singing, and another graduate of ours Arman Rahim is serving as the coordinator of the music academy.
To meet the demands of our students, Arts Council Music Academy started with lessons in guitar and keyboard, but slowly & gradually progressed towards betterment of the academy.
By extreme hard work and determination, Arts Council of Pakistan has come a long way forward and has appointed the best and finest of the country faculty members in the department of music to aid in the development of students and make them the best professional in their related fields.
Arts Council Music Academy takes immense pride in fostering music and responsibly preparing a new generation of music artists. Our excellent reputation in the industry and the growing number of students is the evidence of our hard work and dedication.
