Famous Newscaster, Anchor Dr. Farhana Owais was Honored with “Aitraf e Kamal” at Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi
Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, organized an event titled “ Aitraf e Kamal” to honoured renowned TV anchor Dr. Farhana Owais. Program was held at the Haseena Moin Hall. The event was specially attended by the Provincial Minister of Information, Minority Affairs, Social Protection, and President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Muhammad Ahmed Shah. Professor Ahmed Qadri presided over the event; Meanwhile, Shahida Khurshid performed the duties of moderator.
During the ceremony, Rizwan Sadiqi, Iqbal Latif, Shahabuddin Shahab, Sabuha Khan, Professor Dr. Sajida Parveen, Owais, Naeem Sultan, and others expressed their thoughts. Provincial Minister of Information, Minority Affairs, Social Protection, and President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Muhammad Ahmed Shah stated that the Arts Council has adopted a family-like structure where each member is considered like a family member. He praised those who supported him during the Aalmi Urdu Conference and emphasized the importance of Farhana’s contributions.
He remarked that Farhana is an exemplary woman of this era who has not only maintained her status among men but has also excelled beyond it. He congratulated her on leading such a splendid life and highlighted the need to remember those who have worked tirelessly since 1954. Arts Council has never forgotten anyone’s services, and it never will in the future.
Muhammad Ahmed Shah also presented a bouquet to Dr. Farhana Owais. Professor Ahmed Qadri, in his presidential address, stated that Urdu is a language that touches the heart and diminishes enmity. Farhana proved through her abilities that life’s journey is a journey of knowledge.
There are fewer people with experience in the field of communication, but Farhana passed the exam and achieved her degree on merit. He further said that one should not betray in the journey of knowledge; whatever knowledge one gains should be disseminated to others. He mentioned that if business interferes with the pursuit of knowledge, then knowledge gets corrupted. He appreciated the Arts Council for establishing a commendable tradition of acknowledging people’s services in life.
Rizwan Sadiqi said that Farhana is an example of this era, managing her home, educating her children, and conducting TV programs with grace. Those who decide not to earn unlawfully never regret their decision. Our culture is very old. Governing Body member Iqbal Latif said that Iqbal Latif said that due to her religious studies and melodious voice Farhana actively attracted the audience.
Professor Dr. Sajida Parveen said that Farhana’s journey with religious studies is still ongoing. She seized my heart with her good manners. It’s amazing that when you travel by plane, you hear her voice on the PIA boarding announcements. She further said that living within their limits and making a name for herself in male-dominated societies is her excellence.
News anchor Naeem Sultan, expressing his views, said that mentioning Farhana’s successes in such a short time is very challenging. She is a graceful, dignified, intelligent, professional, and extremely talented woman. He said that Farhana has showcased her talent in Ramadan transmissions, remained a preference for major channels, and it’s astonishing that even while traveling by plane, her voice is heard in the PIA’s boarding announcements.
Dr. Farhana Owais said that “It is Allah’s grace that after 30 years, I have been honoured today. I thank all of you who have shown so much love. I prayed to Allah for a good voice and knowledge for serving religion. Allah gives many opportunities to humans.” She added, “Appearing on television news was merely a coincidence. I was offered roles in dramas and movies, but hosting religious programs was my personal interest because I’ve observed that women are rarely seen in religious programs.
