On the thirteenth day of the ongoing Pakistan Theatre Festival in Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, Tehreek Niswan presented the Theatre play “Insha ka Intezar” in Urdu language, this play is adapted from Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting for Godot”, Theatre’s writer and director was Anwar Jaffrey while the cast of the drama included Naina Black, Haris Khan, Mujtaba Zaidi and Ayesha Alam. Anwar Jaffrey is one of Pakistan’s senior Theatre practitioners and human rights activists. Theatre “Insha ka Intezar” clearly presents the current situation of Pakistan and also shows what our country is gradually becoming, a barren land where existence is burdensome, where people are successfully deprived of their rights. Karmo and Zulekha also constantly come back to their own existence and wonder if they need to apologize to their victims, both unaware of what they have done. With punishment they have to live and think of repentance…but for what? A large number of fans attended the play while appreciating the powerful performances of the actors. On this occasion, Sheema Karmani, expressed her opinion and said that people all over the world have promoted this play in their culture, Tehreek-e-Niswaan is a 50-year-old group, we are happy Arts Council Karachi is doing festivals all over Pakistan due to which people get a chance to show their art and youth are coming forward.
