Council of Pakistan Karachi, the governing
body of the council has approved 17
different sub-committee

The Governing Body of the
ArtsCouncil of Pakistan Karachi has
approved 17 sub-committees of the
governing body. Each committee will be
chaired by a member of the governing
body. The meeting of the Governing Body
was held under the chairmanship of the
PresidentArts Council, Muhammad Ahmad
Shah in which the chairperson of the following committees was elected.

The governing body of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi has co opted five elective members of the governing body for the coming year. Among them are Shakeel Khan, Chand Gul Shah, Uzma Alkarim, Akhlaq Ahmed and Irfanullah Khan. The Governing Body meeting was held at the Arts Council under the chairmanship of President Muhammad Ahmed Shah in which approval was given to former Treasurer and Member Governing Body Qudsia Akbar to perform the duties of Treasurer till the election of Treasurer.

President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah thanked all the members for trusting us once again. The present governing body includes eminent persons from their field. He told the governing body that work on the reconstruction of the open air theater would begin this year, which would be in line with international standards. Two studios are complete, but a large elevator is being installed for them. With the completion of the elevator, these studios will become a major source of income for the Arts Council. In addition, work is underway on a large library in the city, which will collect millions of books. We have received 10,000 books from Mushtaq Ahmed Yousifi’s library and have also contacted people who are ready to donate books.

He said that a women’s conference would be held but for the first time a function conference would be held in the Arts Council on which work has already started. The Arts Council has been digitized, Ahmad Shah said. The recording has begun. Arts Council programs will be broadcast on digital channels. He asked the members of the governing body to give suggestions in the light of their experiences to further improve the institution. On this occasion, condolences were expressed over the deaths of more than 300 members of the Arts Council due to the corona virus and prayers were offered for their forgiveness.

The meeting was also addressed by Haseena Moin, Noorul Huda Shah, Kashif Grami, Prof. Ejaz Farooqi, Syed Asjad Bukhari, Syed Saadat Ali Jafari, Dr. Qaiser Sajjad, Nusrat Haris and others and gave suggestions for further improvement of the Arts Council. The members said that Arts Council has become the largest institution in the country today. As well as promoting art and culture, it is also playing a role in reducing hatred. All the credit goes to President Ahmad Shah, with whose vision the institution is growing day and night.
