Arts Council of Pakistan organized ceremony for Meer Anees Awards as a part of Meer Anees and Bhittai Peace Conference on account of 144th death anniversary of Meer Babbar Ali Anees. Chief Guest of the ceremony former Senator Taaj Haider said Meer Anees described the story of Karbala in most unique and different style. There is an uncanny uniqueness in Meer Anees and Bhittai’s writing. Dr. Aliya Imam said that I am extremely honoured to be invited in this historical ceremony. Meer Anees and Bhittai gave the message of peace through their writing, we all need to understand and analyse their poetry critically and apply it in our personal lives. Dr. Ain-ur-Raza said that the writings and poetry of Meer Anees and Bhittai gave the message of humanity. Other speakers were Raza Ali Baqri and Dr. Parveen Haider while Tabassum Zehra hosted the ceremony. In the end Meer Anees awards were presented to all the guests of the occasion.
