Ministry of culture, Government of Sindh and Arts Council presented a tribute to the legendary writer Fahmida Riaz on 11th December 2018, where many prominent personalities remembered Fahmida and spoke about their experiences with her. Syed Sardar Ali Shah Minister of Culture and Education Sindh was the Chief guest of the evening. President Arts Council Ahmed Shah said ” Fahmida is a symbol of strength and bravery, she has not gone anywhere she will live on through her books and words”
Sardar Shah said that, “What tribute can we give to a person whose life and character was a tribute in itself” he also announced that an academic institute will be named after Fahmida to remind the next generation of the legacy this legend has left behind.
