Students from West and South district actively participated in Youth Festival 2017-18

The District Competition- West & South of Karachi Youth Festival 2017-18 began Declamation category. Students from West and South district actively participated in the category with each of them speaking on very relevant topics. The audience clapped and cheered loudly for their colleagues in encouragement.


Second category for today’s District Competition- West & South of Karachi Youth Festival 2017-18 was Theatre. Participants from West and South district presented engaging stories and plays for the audience members. All the performers displayed immense talent and energy while their friends and colleagues cheered them on.


Last category for today’s District Competition- West & South of Karachi Youth Festival 2017-18 was Singing. Participants from West and South district sang some melodious songs and serenaded the crowd with their vocals and skills. The crowd continued to sing along during the performances while cheering on the participants.


The competition closed with a live performance of the musical band Kashmir. They performed to some of their popular songs and captivated the jam packed auditorium with crowd favorite songs and melodies. At the end, it was the birthday of the band’s lead singer Bilal and it was celebrated by cutting a cake for him on stage.


The competition came to it’s end with prize distribution ceremony. The principals and head mistresses of schools belonging to the South and West districts were presented with shields to thank them for their cooperation. Later, the winners of the competition were awarded with medals by President of Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Mr. Mohamad Ahmed Shah. Minister of Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Dahar were present at the occasion along with District Education officers of South & West and members of Arts Council of Pakistan’s Governing Body.
